Please note: We have volunteers who inspect the yards of all families who adopt dogs from us. Unfortunately, we do not have volunteer yard checkers outside of our local area and, therefore, we can only adopt dogs to residents of Lake Elsinore, Canyon Lake, Murrieta, Temecula, Wildomar, Menifee, and some county areas of southwest Riverside County.

Looking for an Addition
To Your Family?

Here are some things to consider...

Choose the right dog to fit your lifestyle and temperament.

Puppies can be very active, they chew, and are rarely house trained.

All dogs need exercise, grooming, and companionship. Dogs are pack animals and do not enjoy being alone in the world.

Microchipping is a way of permanently identifying your dog even if he's not wearing a collar and ID tag. All dogs (and cats) adopted from AFV are microchipped.

Remember that dogs need regular veterinary check ups and yearly vaccinations and licenses. And for their health, and to prevent suffering caused by overpopulation, all dogs need to be spayed or neutered. All dogs (and cats) adopted from AFV must be spayed or neutered in accordance with California state law.

AFV has many dogs and cats that need good loving homes. Visit the shelter and our off site adoption shows held every Saturday at PETCO in Temecula from
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to find the perfect pet for your family!

Adoption fees include a microchip (with lifetime membership in Home Again), DA2PPV-C & bordetella
vaccinations, collar, AFV ID tag,and free vet check.

DOG ADOPTION FEES:

$80- Altered (already spayed/neutered when they enter the shelter)
$60 - Unaltered (plus spay/neuter fee)

Seniors (5 years and older):
$50 - Altered (already spayed/neutered when they enter the shelter)
$35 - Unaltered (plus spay/neuter fee)
 

Some animals may also have a grooming fee.
